Summer Travel
The Summer Travel Program runs from June through early August. This program is for girls ages 9-19 who are interested in playing softball at a higher level. Where the summer house league is recreational in nature, the Summer Travel Program is competitive and a commitment.
Tryout dates for the 2026 Summer Travel Season are scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 17th (rain date: Sunday, May 31st). Further details to be announced. Players will only need to attend one tryout.
A pre-tryout practice is scheduled for April 29th, 5:30-7:00pm at Andrews Park. Anyone registered for tryouts who would like some extra practice is encouraged to attend.
2026 Eligibility
10U: Date of birth between September 1, 2014 - August 31, 2017
12U: Date of birth between September 1, 2012 - August 31, 2014
14U: Date of birth between September 1, 2010 - August 31, 2012
18U: Date of birth between September 1, 2006 - August 31, 2010
Players must be a Milton resident.
The South Shore Softball League uses USA Softball age guidelines to determined eligibility.
Commitment
Playing time is not balanced and the commitment to the Milton Summer Travel Program cannot be taken lightly. It is expected that girls will be able to attend most if not all of the practices and games.
Games
The 10-game season begins in late June, includes 5 road games throughout the South Shore. Games times are typically 6pm or 8pm on weeknights.
Games are held Monday through Thursday (typically two games per week). Weekends are game/practice free with the exception of a makeup game or practice.
Conference Play
Milton Girls Softball has a history of participating in the South Shore Softball League (SSSL). The numbers vary year to year but typically we have had 2 teams in each age group.
Practices
Practices start in early June.
Teams practice 2 times per week.
Uniforms
Uniform orders are placed during registration. This includes a jersey, pants, socks, compression shorts, and a belt.
Extra Costs
Teams may discuss entering a tournament or two. The tournament fees vary but typically ~$50 per player per tournament.

Does the Summer Travel Program have tryouts and cuts?
Yes, we have tryouts for summer travel in May. We often have to make cuts but this is based on the number of girls trying out and the number of teams we can support at each age level.
Finances are tight. Do you offer any financial assistance?
Milton Girls Softball believes that every girl who is interested in playing should be able to play. If you have financial circumstances that make the registration fees a challenge, please contact us at wecare@miltonsoftball.com for assistance.
